New Clan: Apocalypse
8-21: Clan of the Apocalypse is newest clan. Interesting descriptions for each member.
Stellar Carnage proposed
8-20: Though the page says it hasn't been updated since May 7, Ron Kinion's proposal for Stellar Carnage game is now getting noticed. Very well thought out, but will it fly?
Clan War Page is up and humming
8-19: Black Hole didn't take long to post the Clan Wars Page. There are a few new wrinkles (no clan map), so read his rules.
Titan fried; Cybernex rips
8-18: Word from mayponian is that the server at Titan is fried. They will try to save the database. Also, Cybernex is on a new computer with more memory, meaning faster access. Cybernex will be improving its Net connection in a few weeks for even faster access.
Clan Wars to change hands, again
8-17: I waited a day or so to post, but it appears Chris (AZO) will no longer be hosting Clan Wars. This is the second time he's started and ended the concept prior to completion. I suspect this time school was starting and he needed time to do studies. Black Hole said he will take over administrator duties. Though the page initially was to be on Sir Ashram's page, Black Hole says he will have it exclusively on his pages (Not up yet).
Sir Ashram starts team tournament
8-16: Sir Ashram is starting a new team tournament, with 16 two-team entries fighting it out. Only the finals will be best two-out-of-three.
New version of SC proposed
8-11: A new version of Stellar Crisis, tentatively called the Stellar Crisis Almonaster Project, is being proposed by Max Attar Feingold. Max promises that when he releases his code, the game will always be free for all users (though a fee might be charged to commericial sites wanting to use the code), and the game will not suffer the addition of commercials during gameplay in any shape or form. The new version will be a full Win32 implementation. Anyone versed in Win32 and COM programming may add and remove components with minimal effort.
SC quiz started
8-9: Chris must have gotten the weekend off. He also found time to start The SC Oldtimer Quiz." The Bird got 10 of 15 without looking up anything. BigB scored 12 of 15 and immediately forgot what answers he gave.
Survey says: Yes! to clan wars
8-9: Chris finally bought a new battery for his calculator. After a two month survey on whether Clan Wars was a good idea, 90 out of 174 voters said yes. Of course, that means 84 said something else, including 36 saying no to the idea. The new survey, at Chris's page, asks players to vote for their favorite server, including all of the defunct servers. I don't know if you can vote for more than one server.
Page dedicated to IRC created
8-7: By popular demand, I've created an IRC page. I hope makes it easier to get and use IRC, Internet Relay Chat. Many players use IRC to learn more about the game, set up games or just meet other like-minded SC players.
Skai opens home page
8-6: A good player with an ever-improving page, Skai (Royal Assassin for Red Triad) has opened his home page. I love the animated gif at the top of the page and his cool banner.
A Brief History of SC is up and running
7-27: Everyone asked for it, Creator Sylvan Clebsch wrote to fill in the details and a long-night of researching (it's 3 a.m. and I have to work at 7 a.m.) has wrought A Brief History of SC." I've tried to be brief but include when servers were added and dropped. Comments are welcome.
Chris starts 32-empire tournament
7-18: Chris has started THE tournament to end all tournaments. Well, he promises his 32-empire tournament will end with a winner. Single elimination until the championship. You can read the rules or view the standings from Chris's home page. Seeding will be decided by a panel of old-timers along with a few others.
7-9: Musashi put up his second "How To" nuke an SC God page. This time his nuke-gun sights are on Aggie Land. Musashi is one of the more humorous and difficult players to nuke in the SC realm. Always a must read when he posts.
Secrets of SC Gods revealed! How to nuke Azo listed for all!
7-1: Musashi starts what we can only hope is the first of many installments of "How to Nuke the SC Gods." Tailored made strategies for "accomplishing the seemingly impossible." Tactics for nuking Azo kick off the series. Anyone who's played Chris will recognize the information as accurate. How valuable it is will be left to each empire to determine.
